AUSTRALIAN PRIME MINISTER RUDD TO ATTEND COPENHAGEN CLIMATE CHANGE SUMMIT

Prime Minister Rudd announced today that he will attend the leaders’ segment of the Copenhagen UN Climate Change Conference, on 17-18 December 2009.

The announcement follows an invitation from Prime Minister Lars Rasmussen of Denmark to Heads of Government to attend the Conference.

Mr Rudd described the Copenhagen meeting as representing a critical moment in international efforts to reach a robust agreement on global action to tackle the effects of climate change.

“For current and future generations, it is important that all nations work towards a global solution to this global challenge,” he said.
