MEDIA RELEASE
APPOINTMENT OF NEW AUSTRALIAN HONORARY CONSUL IN CALGARY
9 April 2010
The Australian Government has appointed a new Honorary Consul in Calgary, Mr Paul Nelson.
This is an acknowledgement of the economic and political significance of western Canada, and the value Australia places on its relationship with these provinces.
In the new position, Mr Nelson will have responsibility for providing consular and related assistance to Australians living in and visiting the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
A major focus for Mr Nelson will be on strengthening Australia’s profile in the three provinces, in particular by supporting commercial linkages and promoting educational, scientific and cultural connections.
The contact details of the Honorary Consul are available from DFAIT or the Australian High Commission
