FEDERAL ELECTION 2010
The federal election will be held on Saturday 21 August 2010.
ENROLMENT INFORMATION
Embassy and Consulate officials are unable to assist with enrolment matters. Australians can check their enrolment status online at www.aec.gov.au, or by calling 011 61 13 23 26.
PRE-POLL VOTING
VOTING IN PERSON
Australians can vote in person at the Australian High Commission in Ottawa, the Vancouver Consulate or the Toronto Consulate.
In order to vote overseas, Australians must know their electorate or provide the Australian address where they are currently enrolled in order to be issued with the correct ballot papers. Electorate information is available at www.aec.gov.au/check or by calling 011 61 2 271 4411.
Electors may vote in person from Monday to Friday, 9th - 20th August 2010 at the following offices:
The Australian High Commission in Ottawa from 09:00-16:30 Suite 710 - 50 O'Connor Street, Ottawa (Tel:+1 613 236 0841).
The Vancouver Consulate from 09:00-12:00, 13:00-1630 Suite 2050 - 1075 West Georgia Street, Vancouver (Tel: +1 604 684 1177).
The Toronto Consulate from 09:30-13:00, 14:00-1730 Suite 1100 - 175 Bloor Street East, Toronto (Tel: +1 416 323 1155).
Please note that votes cannot be cast on polling day due to the time difference between Australia and Canada.
POSTAL VOTES
Australians overseas can apply for a postal vote by completing an Application for a postal vote form. Postal vote applications can be mailed to the following offices:
The Australian High Commission will accept postal vote applications until 17:00 Wednesday 18 August 2010. Completed forms can be faxed to The Australian High Commission on +1 613 236 4376 or mailed to:

On receipt of a postal vote application, the ballot papers will be mailed to you for completion and will need to be mailed back to the sending office no later than 20 August 2010.
If opting for a postal vote please apply now in order to receive your ballot papers in time.
If you are unable to attend an overseas voting centre or complete a postal vote you should notify the AEC by emailing info@aec.gov.au
