Passport Application Fees
Fees are reviewed at the beginning of each month and adjusted for exchange rate fluctuations if the change is in excess of +/- 3 per cent. Any change will be displayed on this site on the first business day of the month. Applications which include the incorrect fee will not be processed until the balance has been received. Delays may be minimised by avoiding the postage of applications in the final days of the month.
This table shows the applicable fees in Canadian dollars for Australian Passport applications, the priority processing fee, and additional fees for replacing a lost or stolen passport and postage.

Payment

All payments are to be made in Canadian dollars only by certified cheque or money order payable to the applicable mission. You may pay CASH when lodging the application in person. Please note we do not have credit/debit card facilities at any Canadian office.

If your documents are to be returned by registered mail please add postage to your fee. If you require the immediate return of your supporting documents please include the additional postage fee.

If you wish to have your new passport sent to you by Federal Express, please provide your credit card details for inclusion on the Federal Express waybill.

If you prefer, you can provide a Canada Post express or priority prepaid envelope or courier company of your choice for the return of your documents.

Application fee is non-refundable if passport is not issued.
Immediate travel - Priority processing fee
For urgent travel, please contact the mission at which you will lodge your application to find out if you are eligible for an Emergency Passport. If you are eligible, your travel document will be ready for collection or dispatch within two working days (48 hours) of your application and all required documentation being received. This service attracts a Priority Processing Fee and special conditions apply.
